Prince Setanta Lodge of Mark Master Masons No 1446

11th April 2024 - Last meeting at the Masonic Hall, Poulton Le Fylde for Prince Setanta Lodge of Mark Master Masons prior to their move to Blackpool Cricket Club.
Visiting Brethren occupied a number of the Offices: WBro. Tom Egan acted as Junior Overseer, WBro. Gowan O’Hagan PProv.DepGSwdB acted as Inner Guard and WBro. Tony Cross DGSwdB as Master Overseer.
The WM, Bro. Michael Cook welcomed everybody and opened the Lodge.

There was a knock at the door which signaled the surprise arrival of WBro. Giles Frederick Berkley PGJD, Dep Pro. GM.
The WM welcomed WBro. Giles, who was then saluted by all present.
WBro. Peter Walker PProv GJW gave a brief reminder of a number of the Brethren who had been members of and supporters of the Lodge over its history.
The Lodge business was quickly dispatched and the WM closed the Lodge for the last time at Poulton MH.
The Brethren assembled in the bar for refreshments and onto the festive board where non-Mark Masons and the wives / partners of those present joined us for a meal of; meat n’ potato pie, chips and mushy peas plus cheese and biscuits, with coffee.
A raffle replaced the proposed quiz after the festive board with a large number of prizes on offer. The raffle was run by WBro. Stephen Thackrah Prov GStwd, which raised £155. The top prize being a portable DVD player.
A good night, tinged with sadness, was had by all, but the Lodge is looking forward to moving to their new home with talk of new members waiting in the wings! Onwards and upwards like the phoenix from the ashes!
